As morning breaks, golden in the sky
I awake, sunlight in my eye
And I sigh and turn on over
Yawning in my bed

Out in the street the working day’s begun,
I hear the footfall and voices in the sun
As I rub my eyes wide open
And scratch my sleepy head

So faraway, faraway from home

Five minutes more and then I’ll have to rise
Put on my suit, my shoes and shirt and tie
And then head down to the station
Like every other day

But in this land of cotton candy dreams
Five minutes can become a lifetime, so it seems,
As I sink into my pillow
And prepare to make my way

So faraway, faraway from home

16. So Faraway From Home
(McGowan) One of my favourites as I think it captures that sleepy eyed just waking feel - and the great desire to turn over and go back to sleep. It was Mark’s idea to have the great string arrangement. --Davy So pretty. One of my favourites. --Jore
