If I could be a child again
I'd spend more time out in the rain
And eat more toffee and cream buns
And not spend so much time on sums
And try to climb that big oak tree
That scared me so when I was three
And take my dog for daily walks
Up past the churchyard to the docks

If I could be a child once more
I'd read more books on viking lore
And draw a moustache on my face
And see myself in Odin's place
But sad to say I'm now a man
Without a clue nor yet a plan
Of how to get back to the boy
Who used to use life as a toy

15. A Child Again
(Heikkilä-McGowan) This was waiting years for the next tj band album to appear in vain. Now it's here. A poem that Davy remembers after years. That's a rare thing to happen. --Jore I remember this because there was a line in it I didn't like - but this version has the new line I wrote. Pretty little song - very well sung. --Davy
