I had a little gal and her name was Ella Mae
I met her in a bar in Downtown LA
She looked so sweet, had the ways of a baby child
Built up from the ground, she could drive a good man wild

Ella Mae, Ella Mae why did you do me wrong
When you know it's in my loving arms that you do belong
Ella Mae, Ella Mae, baby what's wrong with you?
Look like an angel, burn like a devil do

Well I've been hurt before
But I would still come back for more
I'm so sad and blue
Take a lot of whisky make me forget you

Ella Mae, Ella Mae wonder what you're doing now
Bet you got another man hogtied though he don't know how
Ella Mae, Ella Mae, honey better change your ways
Love's gonna find you out one of these days

08. Ella Mae
(McGowan) Another excuse for me to use my new steel guitar - and for the other Davy to pretend he's Eric Clapton (actually I think he's better than Eric Clapton). This is a fairly standard blues/rocker but it ticks all the boxes I wanted it to tick. --Davy I think I just agree with Davy. --Jore
