15. Wodlar
(Heikkilä)

This is a strange case. Words started to flow and I was curious to know what really happens here but never really got it. Some hints of some man's dark history is given, but who is he? No names. And who is this Wodlar, anyway? Did he killed him?? Fairwood town is mentioned, but not much more. And who is Ingrid? Even the storyteller doesn't know. Scary stuff. --Jore

A decadent 1925 Berlin feel to this - Berthold Brechtian. Words certainly did flow - look at all those verses! Wonderful story that you can make up your own mind about. --Davy

Suddenly that Wodlar guy had run into our toilet
I don't want to sound so bleak, but what can you do.
Afterwards the policemen said nothing about the bracelet,
Something about Hamlet, nothing about you
Although I wanted you very fast to come, too.
I was told that this may not be true!

Once we moved to Fairwood town where I got into bisness.
We got pretty wealthy there but lost everything.
Gambling was a bad mistake and almost got me legless,
Got me almost mindless, almost homeless, too.
It was no paradise, there were mice, there was ice.
Six weeks later I was paralyzed.

Jeesh, I feel so cold, and so old.
Wondering how I can say my name.
My name once I loved but now I'm feel ashamed.

Hey, you Fairwood boy, you know that Wodlar guy?
Wodlar said you might be here,
Ingrid called you dear,
Did you bring me anything?

It's pretty hard to breathe when your lungs are full of bullets
Unable to walk or run but what can you do?
Maybe I should have with me a bigger pile of bracelets,
Maybe bigger wallets, bodyguard or two
That Wodlar guy he once told me to kiss my ass.
Never knew who Ingrid really was.
