07. Ride
(McGowan)

I'm jealous to Davy of the way and possibility he can use his drum machine! I need to hit my tabla (and table) here until my poor fingers are bleeding to get any decent sound to record - and it still not near to these! Life is not fair! Boring rock turns to quite interesting when Davy gets on it. --Jore

Another addition to my cowboy numbers - I'll soon be able to play a full set of them! I like this - it turned out better than I expected. I didn't anticipate it being so heavy when I wrote it but I think the arrangement suits it. --Davy

Cloudless sky on a Tucson night
Pale moon shining in the sky so bright
You got to ride, ride, ride
Till the morning comes

Sheriff John Birch is on your trail
Ain't nobody gonna go your bail
You got to ride, ride, ride
Till the morning comes

Desperado is your middle name
Robbin' banks is just a part of your game
You got to ride, ride, ride
Till the morning comes

Four good men all in Deadwood graves
They paid the price for the gold you crave
You got to ride, ride, ride
Till the morning comes

It's true you're not the only one
With a price upon your head
But it's true that you're the only one
They'd rather bring in dead

Buckshot Weevil and Slapjack Hayes
Ain't around to help you anymore these days
You got to ride, ride, ride
Till the morning comes

Seems to me there's gonna come a time
When the end of a rope is the end of the line
You got to ride, ride, ride
Till the morning comes
