Davy has found a banjo somewhere and he picks it pretty good in some tracks, starting here. This is so strong tune in some way that I wanted this to be an opening track. --Jore
I borrowed Tom's guitanjo - plays like a guitar and sounds like a banjo. It may sound like cheating - but if it was good enough for Papa Charlie Jackson in 1924 it's sure as hell good enough for me in 2010. A fairly doom-laden song about the road to death, loosely based on an old traditional blues which I remember Mississippi John Hurt singing on Pete Seeger's 'Rainbow Quest' TV show. I think the song was called 'You Got To Walk That Lonesome Valley' --Davy
It's a hard, lonely road
Gotta travel it by yourself
Every day, every day, every day,
Ain't no one can walk it with ya
Seems like something's getting close
Yeah, you know that's true for sure
But the road gets longer
It's a hard, lonesome road
Ain't no friend can help you out
You can't depend on your woman
It's a one man, one-way street
Without a doubt
Seems like something's up ahead
Yeah, looks like something's there for sure
But the road gets longer
