This is where I grew up, this is where I done my time
This is where you go to die in your prime
Streets full of losers, maybe that’s what we all are
I can remember when no one I knew owned a car
And the girls were there, down on Bankhead Road

Don’t give up your hopes, don’t forsake your dreams
A cynic’s just an idealist who’s found out what life really means
So much going wrong in the world, it’s hard to understand
I was always told I was living in Cloud Cuckoo Land
When the girls were there, down on Bankhead Road

They call it innovation, that’s nothing new
Can’t hold back progress no matter what you do

Gimme my rose tinted glasses and let me be
Keep your new toys - they’re not for me
I got my memories of now and then
And I know which one I prefer, it’s way back when
The girls were there, down on Bankhead Road

09. Bankhead Road
(McGowan) If I remember right, I saw this piece of road when we visited Davy last October at Bellshill, Scotland. It was shorter than my tracks lenght in average! Nice lazy feeling. And that Mark boy on the back! He's a real find. --Jore No Bankhead Road in Bellshill - but there is a Bankhead Avenue. I like this song and I'm happy with the recording. It has a Van Morrison influence - but that's OK. Mark plays great! --Davy
