Will ye gang love?
Tae where the pain's nae longer in yer heir
Tae where you'll nae mair wish yersel were deid
Aye an' right oot o' it
Come, I know a place where we go

Will ye gang love?
Tae where the roses sweetly bloom in June
Tae where at last ye'll march tae no one's tune
Other than yours alone
Come, I know a place where we can go

Or wid ye fly cross the border
Would you fly across the sea
Before ye'll look the groun' I walk on
And come with me?

I've lain long lassie - o
Withoot ye by my side
I've lain long lassie - o
Withoot ye as my bride

Will ye gang love?

10. Will Ye Gang Love
(McGowan) Scottish after Finnish. Interesting built jazzy song. Some hidden power inside it. Folk influences are unquestionable. Cool! --Jore Certainly a Scottish folk influence here - in fact I think the song title is the name of an Archie Fisher album. But there seems to be more than folk here - maybe the song decided to burst out of its folk straitjacket while I wasn't paying attention. Interesting - as I could never imagine I wrote this - but I obviously did. --Davy
