It's a cold and dark winter's night
It's alright, she ain't got no fear
Standing by the streetlight
It's so bright, she's like a ghost appeared
The night revellers linger on
With a song that she's never heard
She knows there ain't nothing wrong
It won't be long, she just smiles without a word

She hears a footstep so faint
But it ain't who she wants to see
She got the soul of a saint
She's in love, that's the way it should be
And then the first flakes of snow
Come and go from the moonlit sky
There's nothing that she don't know
And so she just waits there for her guy

She checks her watch as she waits
He's not late, she's just way too soon
She thinks back to their first date
Was it Fate made that afternoon
Then suddenly there he is
With a kiss and a single rose
Who can tell what love is
Is it this? Only Angelina knows.

(McGowan) I like this. It's got a warm feel to it despite the cold weather in the lyric – and there's a happy ending! Mark's bass is particularly effective as are the 'strings' he added – and the French horn at the end. A surprising amount of my songs on this set were in standard tuning - unusual for me. This is Am-F-C-G. Simple really. --Davy

I like this, too! I understand most of the great lyrics, too. Am-F-C-G is a good combination, you shouldn't go wrong if you try it. --Jore
