The song is based on a true story. I find this kind of info from the net: "Luisa and Roger separated in 1994 and divorced in 2002." "Roger met Luisa when she interviewed him for Italian television. They worked together on the Italian movie Romulus and the Sabines." And "He claims it was love at first site and that they were able to communicate even though she spoke no English and he no Italian." Also "Geoffrey Moore: "In the years after Roger first walked out she [Luisa] always left an empty chair at the table when the family sat down for Christmas dinner. "In the end", says Geoffrey, "we took the chair away." So, not all my lyrics are based on fantasy! --Jore
Never a dull minute with Jore. One weekend in May he began bombarding me with lyric upon lyric - all in English which he wanted me to check for errors. I've no idea what 'brain storm' brought it all on - but it went as quickly as it arrived - leaving a legacy of songs about things like Roger Moore and his wife. --Davy
