7. Hewoisen huokaus Luojalle

Jore goes punk? This poem is written by Jaakko Juteini (1781 - 1855) who was a poet and a writer, one of the earliest Finnish language and fiction pioneers. But he was born just some miles away from where I live now, and his statue is about 100 meters from our house. I found his poetry book on our book shelf and made the melody that first came into my mind. Or maybe just the chords, I'm sure this 'melody' has been used in many places elsewhere. His poems are hilarious, e.g. how does the ox feel when he knows he is going to be castrated. The name of the song means 'The horsie's sigh for it's creator'. I'm sure the Finnish lyrics must be now royalty free. Maybe Juteini would spin in his grave if he heard the music but I guess there are not much left to spin anymore... --Jore
