Where these stories come from? This was a possibility to play sitar here somewhere, and I took it. Not to play 'too good', but more like to get a sound of it. --Jore
Bloody brilliant. A 'Sparky's Magic Piano' for the 21st century. What a great storyteller Jore is! --Davy
Well, there is a story about the sitar. It was back in 70 or so... I was a young boy then. My uncle has moved into our house and he was going stay there for a while. He had brought a strange instrument with him from his trips to the East and to India.
And, I started to hear this slow orchestral violin music in my head.. yeah, just like that. How you guys do this? Anyway, my Ma had told me not to touch to my uncle's stuff and things. But one day when I saw that sitar, I swear to God, I heard it sayin': Play me, Matt, we are meant to be together, Matt, touch me Matt, and things like that and I just couldn't resist it.
So I took it carefully to my lap and started to pick the strings, and I tell you folks, for a moment we were as one, and I was George Harrison... or that Shankar guy... Of course my old fingers are not now what they used to be but it went something like this
---
Well, the music stopped very quickly when my Ma ran into my uncle's room and gave me a good clip on the ear. Never played sitar since then, until now.
