2. Coming Down The Road
(McGowan)

I'm not sure what Davy is trying to say here, but again the song is wisely written. My personal favourite is the guy mumbling on one channel on chorus. --Jore

Being an atheist who believes that Jesus existed leads me to the inevitable conclusion that he had mental health issues and must have felt a bit let down at the end of the day as he was crucified. My disbelief in the resurrection is the reason for the song's abrupt end. The guitar is in open D tuning. --Davy

Here's where they played for his clothes
Here's where he shouted out
'I want freedom'
Here's where the lance left it's mark
Here's where he yelled in pain
'I want freedom now
And not down the road at the rainbow's end
Now, before the exquisite pain
Leaves me with no way to wend'

Here's a little tittle tattle
Here's a little how's your father
Here's a little mumbo jumbo
Coming down the road
Here's a little Bob's you uncle
Here's a little what's it matter?
Here's a little mumbo jumbo
Coming down the road

Here's where he stumbled and fell
Here he took water saying
'I want Freedom'
Here's where the day turned to night
Here's where he cried aloud
'I want freedom now
And not at the point where I'm past return
Now, before the exquisite pain
Reminds me of all who will burn'

Here's a little tittle tattle
Here's a little how's your father
Here's a little mumbo jumbo
Coming down the road
Here's a little Bob's you uncle
Here's a little what's it matter?
Here's a little mumbo jumbo
Coming down the road

Here's where they laid him to rest
Here's where the story ends.
