When I woke up it was Saturday morning
The rain was rattling upon my door
I read the paper while I was still yawning
Till I decided not to read no more

Got out of bed, I didn't draw my curtains
Made up my breakfast in the frying pan
Put on the suit I bought last week in Burton's
Then headed out – I didn't have no plan

I made my way to the store
Met an old friend there from the factory floor

Went back to his place with a bottle of brandy
And we sat listening to The rolling Stones
Two hours later I didn't feel so handy
I felt a fever creeping in my bones

Said my goodbyes as I climed into a taxi
Stopped at the corner shop for cigarettes
And now I'm home just sitting here on my jacksey
Listening to Disco Tex's Sex-O-Lettes

1. Saturday Morning
(McGowan) Certainly not a blues - this sounds like a happy song. (Even though it starts as 'when I woke up...'). Cleverly built melody, and interesting, even though I don't understand but half of the lyrics which are not yet available -- Jore

No, definitely not a blues – just a tale of a free Saturday with nothing much to do. Guitar is tuned EAC#EAE. 'Jacksey' means arse.–Davy
