Bob's greatest friend was his old Uncle Bill
Who lived in the village just over the hill
He's been a midshipman, a judge and headmaster
A lion tamer too - though that proved a disaster.

He turned a bit barmy as old age drew nigh
And claimed he was stalked by a dog with one eye
No one ever saw it - well, no one but him,
He said it could talk and was called Lucky Jim

Bob and all the locals just took it in fun
Which is surely the best thing when all's said and done
Things might have been fine if he'd left it at that
But he then saw the ghost of a siamese cat
With a bright shining star glowing between its eyes
Which stayed by Bill's side from sunset to sunrise

No one is quite sure just how things will work out
As it all seems to happen when no one's about
Will the cat play its part tearing mice limb from limb
Or get killed in the night by one-eyed Lucky Jim?

4. Lucky Jim
(Heikkilä - McGowan) Next key word poem on the row. My guitar sounds to be in DADGAD tuning. I can find all those needed three chords, but hardly more. -- Jore

A feel of bluegrass country about this melody with guitar, banjo and harmonica. This is probably my favourite of the key word poems! --Davy
