Soft as a sigh she goes wending her way
Over the bridge at the dawn of the day
Down to the end of the street
Where lovers meet

Sunrise and sunset she stands by the stone
Always in silence, always alone
Down at the end of the street
Where lovers meet

She waits for her John who is far, far away
At the same hour, each and every day
Hope and love sustain her as well they may

The morning mist one June day began to fade
Her handsome John came tripping through the glade
Down to the end of the street
Where lovers meet

11. Where Lovers Meet
(McGowan) I don't tend to write much 'traditional' material these days - but I think this is a bit in that field. Kind of 'John B. Riley' in feel. Great bass from Mark - the poor soul never knows what the hell he is going to find when he comes around to do overdubs -- Davy

Pretty little sad song! Could have been my melody - until the chorus section... which is far too difficult for me to imagine. This song grows on me each time. -- Jore
