The scent yet fills the room wherein we lay,
In love's sweet arms for all the life-long day.
When you returned I counted myself blest,
And felt again the joy of life's sweet zest.
The overwhelming darkness disappeared,
On waking I found I no longer feared
The dreary, humdrum routine of my days;
My being was changed in oh so many ways
That day you pressed your sweet lips next to mine,
And gave me back the love I hold sublime.

20. The Return
(Heikkilä - McGowan) A poem about lovers getting back together again....before they doubtless split up again. Quite a jaunty little tune from Jore. --Davy

I remember (and can hear) it was difficult to sing some of those words so fast. Why can't you make easier words for me, please? --Jore
