The snufflegrout is a bird of day,
Not a bird of night or a bird of prey.
It has two thin legs and a crested head
With feathers of blue and green and red.

The snufflegrout will rarely fly,
So there’s no point looking for it in the sky.
It inhabits islands near the sea
And it’s call is a ‘Ka Ka Ka Coooee’

The snufflegrout is a dying breed,
As the seals will eat them when they feed
And so one sad day, just like Robin Hood,
The snufflegrout will be gone for good.

7. The Snufflegrout
(Heikkilä - McGowan) Another match between an orvot melody and a poem by Davy. I think it works at some level. Kind of a sad story but the melody is not too happy either. -- Jore

Jore keeps coming up with poems I have forgot all about. I think he must have a big pile of them somewhere going back to 2003 and he just puts his hand in and pulls one out now and then . I guess Orvot and my poems were made to be married. -- Davy
