The Baltic Moonshine Band was born of excess - an excess of ideas, an excess of songs…..and an excess of free time to indulge in whatever creative excesses the Muse encouraged within Jore and Davy.

Of course they had
The Mescaline Smugglers for the jazz/rock/blues type of songs - and The Kvester Melkk Quintet for the folkier side of things… but music being music that still left a lot of room for 'experimentation', and with Davy recording in Scotland and Jore recording in Finland it wasn't long before there was a considerable backlog of material that didn't seem like it would fit into the Smugglers or KMQ canon - besides which Tuomas wasn't really involved in this project at all - whereas Tarja made a big comeback into the music on some of these tracks.

Should it just be put out as solo projects? Should it be called 'Cinnamon Salami 2'? Or maybe 'Zimmermann Safari'? Should it be discarded and forgotten about? Is the world truly ready for 4CDs worth of good, bad and ugly musical doodling? Well too bad if it isn't, because The Baltic Moonshine Band is here to stay……so make of it what you will.
