It was in 2004 that the idea of The Kvester Melkk Quintet came to Jore's mind. It would be a band for recording songs that didn't seem to fit on The Mescaline Smugglers albums. Jore & Davy had met because of their mutual interest in Donovan and it was Donovan's songs they began to play in the studio during Davy's first visit to Finland in 2003. 10 of the tracks on the first album called A Kaleidoscope Of Donovan were recorded then. But those 10 songs weren't enough for a complete album, so the boys did four more in 2004 and got the total playing time over the 30 minute mark. The whole album consists of Donovan covers.
