I'm going up the Tumblin Gap
To see my Granny and my Grandpap

Me and my wife, my grandpap
Live up yonder on the Tumblin Gap
Tumblin Gap, Tumblin Gap
Live up yonder on the Tumblin Gap

Old Aunt Kate, I like Sal
I'm gonna marry that pretty little gal
pretty little gal, pretty little gal
I'm gonna marry that pretty little gal

When I grow up I'll buy me a farm
I'll raise sweet taters as long as your arm
long as your arm, long as your arm
I'll raise sweet taters as long as your arm

When I die don't bury me at all
Pickle my bones in alcohol
Lay my hands on top of my chest
tell them pretty girls, "Gone to rest"

9. Thumblin' Gap
(trad) I heard this some time ago on Spotify, played by The Humdingers, a magical old time music band and I wanted to make a cover. I wanted to sound as them, stupidly. This is boring, their version is not. And I made also Davy and my American friend Cindy to see much trouble to get the lyrics because I couldn't make out what they were saying there.

Anyway, what's done is done. And thanks for Davy and Cindy once more with my apologies. -- Jore

No need for apologies – I know how much you love bluegrass. I can listen to bluegrass for 3 minutes before I fall asleep – so this just about fits that purpose. I know this from Lonnie Donegan's 'Cumberland Gap' They obviously come from the same source – but got lost in translation in the Appalachian Mountains. Jore sounds like one of the oddballs from the 'Deliverance' movie – scary! --Davy
